| Abstract/Contents: | States that "there is a great deal of misinformation regarding herbicide-resistant weeds" and defines related terminology. Discusses different kinds of herbicide resistance (in target-site and non-target-site), causes of herbicide resistance (selection pressure, generation time, mutation frequency, reproductive fitness), and the occurence of herbicide-resistant weeds, noting that "the herbicides with the most resistant-weed biotypes are the ALS-inhibitors, triazines, and ACCase inhibitors." Also discusses herbicide bioassay selection as "the most important criteria in developing a program to screen, evaluate, and monitor herbicide resistance," and details the different bioassay techniques. |
