Abstract/Contents: | Discusses fairy ring infestations, stating that "fairy rings in turfgrasses are caused by certain soilborne fungi that feed off of dead organic matter in the soil and producing [produce] rings or arcs of symptomatic turf and/ or mushrooms." Explains that symptoms include "rings or arcs of necrotic turf"; "rings or arcs of stimulated turf growth"; and "rings or arcs of mushrooms only." Discusses tests conducted to monitor fungicidal control of fairy ring and states that "these studies suggest that, if one is planning to use a fungicide for fairy ring control, which product one chooses is less important that application in combination with an appropriate soil surfacant in sufficient volume." |
