Abstract/Contents: | Presents findings from "observations of algae and moss presence on experimental putting greens [collected] during the 2000 to 2004 growing seasons." Discusses how the variables of the experiment, including sand type, root zone amendment, and root zone depth, affected algae appearance, stating that "shallower, 9-inch root zones...averaged 24% algae coverage while the conventional, deeper, 12-inch root zones averaged 2% algae coverage." Mentions that there is no "ancillary data to help explain why moss preferentially occured on the shallow depth root zones." |
