| Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the use of a near infrared turfgrass tissue analyzer for diagnosing plant infertilities and determining "what nutrient is imbalanced and to what degree." Explains that this instrument "analyzes the nutritional content of a dried turfgrass sample" and "target nutritional values for each element are used to help interpret the results and guide the turfgrass fertility program." Discusses other uses of tissue testing, including fertility program adjustments, strengthening of desirable plant species while eliminating the vulnerable, and use as an integrated pest management (IPM) tool that can "justify a granular fertilizer application, if need be." |
