Abstract/Contents: | This article includes notes on insect pests of turf in Japan, and a list of 18 species of Coleoptera and 8 species of Lepidoptera that were found in turf by M. Yoshida. Only trichlorphon is now registered as an insecticide for use on turf, but, in practice, diazinon is being generally used. Isoxathion [O,O-diethyl O-(5-phenyl-3-isoxazolyl) phosphorothioate] and other organophosphate insecticides have gradually come into use recently. Their use and effectiveness are discussed. |
