| Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the potential importance of communication skills for superintendents, stating that "most members and management generally are happier when they are aware of what is going on at the club." Suggests writing a weekly article, which "allows the superintendent to be in the information center for golf course news." Also suggests the use of suggestion cards, monthly board reports, a monthly green committee agenda, videos, a golf course information sheet, and attendence at scheduled club meetings for improved communication. Recommends that superintendents "develop a long range plan that will allow [them] to keep track of what has been done and what is still needed to keep [their] course in quality condition." Suggests detailed record keeping and a photo album to document changes at the course. |
