| Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the management of calcareous soils, which are "those that contain an excessive amount of lime (calcium carbonate)." Explains that "these soils have a high pH and grasses grown on them often develop nutrient imbalances and other stress-related problems." Suggests that "soils that contain free calcium carbonate are very highly buffered and attempts to lower the pH through acidification will not be successful on these soils." Concludes that "a better approach to handling the situation would be to apply micronutrients to the tissue." |
