| Abstract/Contents: | Explains that in new construction projects "often, only minimal attention is given to the specific variables of design, climate, planned structure and potentially useful materials which should be factored into the selection process." Suggests that "it is possible to offset many environmental anomalies through appropriate selection of materials and carefully considered construction methods." Concludes that "in the increasingly stressed conditions which are common to modern courses, knowledge of and planning for the specific needs of a course under construction will help ensure a much longer life for the greens, and a far better return on investment than would be possible with haphazard methods." |
