| Abstract/Contents: | "Evaluation trials were conducted with benomyl, PCNB, and B-33172 fungicides to determine their effectiveness against stripe smut (Ustilago srtiiformis). The chemicals were applied to replicated plots of heavily smutted 'Merion' Kentucky bluegrass turf. The data show that the systemic fungicide, benomyl, was highly effective against this disease. PCNB also was effective; however, the formulation used in these tests imparted a yellow discoloration to the turf. B-33172, on the other hand, was generally ineffective for control of stripe smut." |
