Abstract/Contents:Suggests that "as golf becomes more popular and member expectations rise, it is becoming increasingly necessary for superintendents to rely on experts to support the many facets of golf course management." Describes some of the different roles on the golf course, including equipment technicians, horticulturalists, environmental technicians, and pest control specialists. Concludes that "by taking on either a new hire or placing an existing staff member in the position, superintendents not only gain some much needed help, but also a way to make their case for proving the role's value."
