Abstract/Contents: | Reviews use of normal turf management and pest control practices in integrated pest management (IPM) in turf. The management practices reviewed are proper construction, specified soil mixtures, selection of best adapted varieties, time of seeding, shade removal, and cultural practices including fertilization, irrigation, mowing, aerification, verticutting, and topdressing. Discusses preventative and curative control programs using pesticides and biological control methods. Also reviews economics of IPM and the need to be well-informed about pest problems and turfgrasses for effective IPM. |
