| Abstract/Contents: | "Fungicides were evaluated at the Hiwan Country club in Evergreen, CO (elevation 7000 ft). The site was on a north-facing, shaded fairway where snow accumulates and persists. Infection by M. navalis occurred naturally and was generally uniform throughtout the experimental area. Treatments were applied on 30 Oct 86 to 5 ft x 5 ft in a randomized complete block design with four replications. Fungicides were applied in the equivalent of 5 gal water/1000 sq ft at 30 psi using a CO2 powered R & D sprayer equipped with a 8003 Tee-jet nozzle. A 5 ft x 5 ft x 2.5 ft high moveable spray shield was used to prevent drift onto adjacent plots. There was permanent snow cover from 1 Nov 86 to 20 Mar 87. Fungicide efficacy was evaluated on 24 Apr 87 using a modified Horsfall-Barratt scale. Ratings were converted to percent diseased area before analysis. Several treatments gave statistically significant disease control, but Tersan 1991 and Cleary 3336 gave the most consistent and commercially acceptable control." |
