| Abstract/Contents: | "Fungicide treatments were evaluated on a stand of mixed Kentucky bluegrass in a fairway at the Elk's Country Club, West Lafayette, IN. The turf received conventional golf course fairway care and was maintained 1.5 in height. Treatments were applied to 3.3 x 6.6 ft plots arranged in a randomized complete block design with 3 replications. Treatments were applied with a hand held CO2 pressurized sprayer at 22 psi with a 9504E Tee Jet nozzle at a rate of 2 gal/1000 sq ft. Untreated plots were sprayed with water only. All treatments were first applied on 28 May. Treatments with a 14 day spray schedule received 3 additional applications on 12, 26 Jun and 10 Jul. Treatments with a 21 day spray schedule received 2 additional treatments on 19 Jun and 10 Jul. Disease rating were made on 8, 23 Jun, 1 and 16 Jul by counting the number of lesions on 50 randomly selected leaves in each plot. Temperatures were above normal with precipitation during the entire length of the experiment. Leaf spot development was severe and at its peak when treatments were started on 28 May. disease severity decreased from then to the end of the experiment. Under the severe conditions of this test for curative control, there were no significant differences between any treatment and the untreated controls until 1 Jul. On that date, all treatments, except Spotless 25WP at 2.0 oz and Vorlan 50WP at 2.0 oz had significantly less leaf spot that the untreated control. No phytotoxicity was noted." |
