| Abstract/Contents: | "The test was conducted on a golf course fairway near Bowie in Prince George's County, Md. Damage to the turf at the time of treatment on 26 Aug was moderate. Plots were 8 X 8 ft arranged in a randomized complete block design and replicated 4 times. Granular formulations were applied with a hand-held shaker can. Liquid formulations were applied from a 2-gal hand-held sprinkling can. All applications were made in 2 directions across each plot. Treatments were watered into the thatch with 0.5 inch of water with the golf course irrigation system. On 27 Aug, the number of dead grubs on the surface of the plots was counted. Pretreatment populations averaged 2 larvae/sq ft and any treatment reducing populations below 1 grub/sq ft would be acceptable in Bermudagrass turf." |
