Abstract/Contents:An account is given of the biology and control of species of Scarabaeidae (including the native forms Lachnosterna (Phyllophaga) spp., Cyclocephala borealis Arrow, C. immaculata (Ol.) and Cotinis nitida (L.) and the introduced Popillia japonica Newm., Amphimallon majalis (Razoum.), Anomala orientalis Waterh. and Maladera castanea (Arr.)) and Curculionidae (including Sphenophorus parvulus Gylh., S. venatus vestitus Chitt. and Hyperodes spp.) in the United States. The larvae often severely damage turf by feeding on the roots.
