Abstract/Contents:"The test was conducted on a golf course fairway near Bowie, Prince George's County, Md. Damage to the turf on 19 Aug was moderate. Plots were 8 X 8 ft, arranged in a randomized complete block design, and replicated 3 times. Granular formulations were applied with a hand-held shaker can. Liquid formulations were applied with a 2-gal sprinkling can. All applications were made in 2 directions across each plot. Treatments were watered into the thatch with 0.5 inches of water with the golf course irrigation system. The number of dead grubs on the surface of the plots was counted on 20 Aug. All treatments, with the exception of Dylox 5G/2.0, Sevin SL/6.0, Dursban 4E/2.0, Pounce 3.2E/0.5, Proxol 80SP/8.0, and Oftanol 2I/2.0, provided significantly better control than the untreated checks. The 6 mentioned chemicals performed no different than they have in previous years, except for Sevin SL/6.0 which has done well in past years."
