Abstract/Contents:Discusses possible benefits to using an agronomist in a turf maintenance program. Suggests that an agronomist may help a club in "course conditioning"; "establishing long range plans"; "problem solving"; providing objective, unbiased advice; advocating for the turf; providing specailst expertise; and providing a forum for communication. States that "there is more to an agronomic visit than a walk round the turf areas and a report. Clubs that gain greatest value from an agronomic visit engage with the agronomist, are open mindend and honest about their maintenance programmes [programs], include as many member of the committee as possible and are interested in making real progress."
