Abstract/Contents:Presents the results of a comparative survey of golf courses and woodlands. States that the study compared "the breeding bird density and diversity of two adjoining areas of land - one a 12 year old fully functioning 27-hole golf facility cut out from the adjacent woodland, and the other an area of mature beech, sycamore and pine woodland extending to over 82 hectares that have been left unmanaged for many years." Reports that "the findings would surprise many wildlife enthusiasts, with the golf course not only being equally as diverse as the woodland, but more so."
