| Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted to evaluate the "Amino Sugar Soil N [nitrogen] Test (ASNT) and Active Soil C Test (ASCT) as predictors of lawn turf response." Reports that "across the sampling dates, there was no significant correlation between any of the measured turf growth or quality variables with soil measurements. However, there was a significant, but weak, positive correlation between N uptake by the lawn turf and ASNT." States that "the results suggest that the ASNT may have promise as an indicator of N uptake by the grass plant. This relationship might be important relative to growth and quality aspects of turf, and as an indicator of inherent N-supplying capacity of lawn soils." |
