Abstract/Contents:Discusses drought conditions and water restrictions in Georgia in 2007. Describes efforts by golf course superintendents to maintain their courses with little water, stating that "Georgia superintendents work hard to maximize their water allotments and have undertaken enhanced best management practices. Using less fertilizer, cutting grass higher, reducing acreage of lower cut turf and keeping carts away from high traffic or drought-prone areas have been implemented at many courses to reduce water use." Suggests the use of wetting agents, "chemicals used to move water more efficiently into and through the soil profile."
