Abstract/Contents: | Profiles knotweed (Polygonum aviculare), stating that it "can grow in very hard compacted soil where ordinary grasses cannot survive." Explains that knotweed "can be killed with sodium arsenite, with 2,4-D and other chemicals but that will not solve the problem." Suggests that "it is necessary to improve the soil structure by cultivation, by the addition of sand and organic matter, by fertilizing and planting tough adapted grasses." |
