| Abstract/Contents: | Discusses possible methods of weed control, stating that "the whole picture of weed control breaks down into two definite approaches. The one is cultural practices and the second is chemical control. From a practical standpoint those two dovetail very closely." Explains that "cultural practices cover the entire field of good maintenance work...[and] the proper use of chemicals in a weed control program assumes, in the first place, the proper timing of treatments." Profiles three classifications of herbicides, including broadleaf weed control; chickweed, knotweed, and veronica control; and crabgrass control. Presents the results of a study conducted to examine possible methods of crabgrass control. |
