| Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted to compare the effectiveness of several pesticides against black cutworm (BCW) larvae. Details methods and materials used in the study, stating that "the green was cut to a ht [height] of 0.3125 inch 2 d [days] prior to applications. Each treatment was replicated four times in a RCB [randomized complete block] design." Lists pesticides used in the study, including Provaunt 1.25SC, Avaunt 30%WDG, DPX E2Y45 1.67SC, and Talstar 0.67SC. Reports that "at 1 DAT [day after treatment], Avaunt 30%WDG at the high rate (0.075 lb [pound] (AI [active ingredient])/acre), and DPX E2Y45 1.67SC (0.026 lb (AI)/acre) and 0.052 lb (AI)/acre equaled the standard Talstar 0.67SC, with over 90% control." States that "no phytotoxicity was observed." |
