| Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted to "determine the efficacy of...compounds against the first generation of annual bluegrass weevil (ABW)." Lists insecticides used in the study, including Orthene, Scimitar, Conserve, and Dylox. Details methods and materials used in the study, stating that "all sprayable formulations were applied with a watering can (3 qt [quarts] water per plot)." Reports that "all treatments except the lowest rates of Orthene 97 and Dylox 80 reduced larval populations significantly compared to the untreated checks. The high rate of Conserve SC reduced populations significantly better when compared with treatments of Orthene 97, Scimitar GC, or Dylox 80. Only conserve SC treatments provided agronomically acceptable (>70%) levels of control." |
