| Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted to evaluate insecticides for control of southern masked chafer (SMC) white grubs. Details methods and materials used in the study, stating that "the turf (100% Kentucky bluegrass) was maintained at a ht [height] of 2.5 inches...Field conditions at the study site were: soil type, silty clay loam; soil organic matter, 3-5%; soil pH, 6-7; water pH 7.0." Lists treatments evaluated in the study, including Merit 75WP, Mach 2SC, Merit 0.5G, Thiamethoxam 40WP, Merit + Fertilizer Experimental, Mach 2 + Fertilizer Experimental, and an untreated check. Reports that "all treatments provided statistically significant reductions in the number of SMC grubs when compared to the untreated check except for Mach 2 + Fertilizer. The Mach 2 + Fertilizer was the only treatment that did not provide acceptable (>80%) SMC control. No phytotoxicity was observed." |
