| Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted to determine the effectiveness of several insecticides in controlling white grubs in golf course rough areas. Details methods and materials used in the study, stating that "the area in which the test was conducted had been infested with European chafer and Japanese beetle grubs...Sprayable treatments were replicated six times and were blocked from one end of the plot to the other...All plots were watered with 0.25 inch of irrigation after each set of applications." Lists chemical treatments evaluated in the study, including Arena 0.5G, Arena 50WDG, Merit 0.5G, ProScape 16-4-8 Mesa, Mach 2SC, Merit 75WP, Dylox 6.2G, and Sevin 6.3G. Reports that "all of the chemical treatments gave a minimum of at least 47% control compared with the untreated check plots. All three of the untreated sets of plots contained one replicate in which no grubs were found." |
