| Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted to compare the effectiveness of Imidacloprid and Beta-Cyfluthrin combinations with the effectiveness of Halofenozide, Lambda-Cyhalothrin and Carbaryl in controlling Japanese beetles. Details methods and materials used in the study, stating that "the grass was mowed to 0.4 inch prior to applications, and maintained at 0.4 inch evey other day thereafter. All treatmetns were applied using a large saltshaker, and were irrigated with the golf course system to 0.25 inch." Reports that "all treatments with imidacloprid gave 100% control. Spectrum Grub Stop Once & Done! provided less control than imidacloprid, but control was still excellent. Gardent Tech Sevin Lawn Insecticide, Spectracide Trazicide and beta-cyfluthrin gave poor control. Poor control was not due to the lack of moisture. This fairway was irrigated every other day, in addition to several inches of precipitation." |
