| Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted to evaluate insecticdes for effectiveness in controlling chinch bugs (CB). Details methods and materials used in the study, stating that "the turf (100% buffalograss) was maintained at a ht [height] of three inches...Field conditions at the study site were: soil type, silty clay loam; soil organic matter 3-5%; soil pH, 6-7; water pH, 7.0." Lists treatments evaluated in the study, including Talstar 2F, Arena 50WDG, and Arena 0.5G. Reports that "at 4 DAT [days after treatment], all treatments provided statistically significant reductions in CB no. [number] when compared to the untreated check, and all treatments except for the three rates of Arena 0.5G provided acceptable (>80%) CB control...No phytotoxicity was observed." |
