| Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of Arena in controlling grasshoppers (GH). Details methods and materials used in the study, stating that "the turf (100% tall fescue) was maintained at a ht [height] of 2.5 inches...Field conditions at the study site were: soil type, silty clay loam; soil organic matter, 3-5%; soil pH, 6-7; water pH, 7.0." Lists treatments used in the study, including Arena 50WDG, Talstar 0.67F, and Arena 0.5G. Reports that "all insecticide formulations provided statistically significant reductions in GH numbers at 3 DAT [days after treatment]/3 DAI [days after introduction]...when compared to the untreated check...No phytotoxicity was observed. All insecticide formulations provided statistically significant reductions in GH no. [number] at 10 DAT/3 DAI." |
