| Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted "to evaluate several soil-applied insecticides for control of white grubs." Details methods and materials used in the study, stating that "treatments were applied to bermudagrass, Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers., rough mowed at 2 inches...on 17 [June] to tall fescue, Festuca arundinacea Schreb, rough...on 18 [June] to 48 ft2 [square feet] plots arranged in a RCB [randomized complete block] design with five and four replications respectively." Describes soil conditions, stating that "soil type at Perkins [Oklahoma] was a sandy loam with a pH of 5.8 and 2.89% organic matter...Soil type at Stillwater [Oklahoma] was a Norge loam with a pH of 6.9 and 2.89% organic matter." Reports that "grub populations in the nontreated plots were below the threshold for turfgrass. Talstar EZ and Talstar F had numerically higher grub numbers than the check plots, and Talstar EZ had significantly higher numbers...No phytotoxicity was observed for any treatment." |
