| Abstract/Contents: | States that "devloping a good understanding for diseases, why they happen and how to prevent them from taking place is the best thing a lawn care professional can to when creating an effective disease control plan." Profiles common turf diseases and control methods including, brown patch, dollar spot, fairy rings, gray snow mold, necrotic ring spot, pink snow mold/microdochium patch, powdery mildew and pythium blight. States that "once a disease appears there is no cure, only suppression." Notes that "many lawn care companies sell preventative fungicide programs...these are most successful if the region is prone to a certain disease or if clients' lawns have experienced disease before." Mentions that "managing customers expectations and reminding them what their program covers is one of the most difficult aspects of disease control." |
