Abstract/Contents: | Explains that "it isn't the number of years that is important, but what is accomplished in those years. And for the MTF [Michigan Turfgrass Foundation] much has been accomlished since March 1957." States that "during the 1960s the Turfgrass Information Center was initiated, highlighted by the addition of the O.J. Noer collection. Thirty-five years later Dr. Beard would add his personal collection to the center." Notes that "MTF and MSU [Michigan State University] Extension Service began co-sponsoring annual Field Days to highlight...turfgrass research projects." Mentions that "in addition to Field Days and the annual turf conference, MTF sought other means to provide for an informed membership. The first issue of Newsnotes was sent to MTF members in January 1978." Also mentions that "groundbreaking for the Hancock Turfgrass Research Center took place on October 11, 1979." Discusses different technology that the MTF has put in place to better update their members on turf. |
