Abstract/Contents: | Dicusses a grant that "financed the creation of an educational curriculum that uses turfgrass as a model to teach Math, Science, Business and Communication skills to at-risk underrepresented youth." States that 90 students are involved. Notes that the "kick-off celebration" was held at Comerica Park. Mentions that the "MTESP [Michigan Turfgrass Environmental Stewardship Program] has been a success for golf courses and their members. With this knowledge and support, the program is growing into other areas. These areas include sports fields, parks and recreation facilities." |
