Abstract/Contents: | Profiles the leatherjacket, the larval stage of the crane fly. Describes potential damages the leatherjacket may cause to turfgrass, stating that "as the larvae develop, they may move onto the turf surface during the evening or periods of mild, damp weather and feed on the leaf and shoot tissues, particularly around tine holes that give an easy route to the surface." Mentions potential chemical control options. States thats "there are chemical control options available with label approval for use against the leatherjacket in managed amenity turf situations and their active ingredients are either Chlorpyrifos or Imidacloprid." |
