Abstract/Contents: | Profiles winter kill and potential solutions, including drainage. Suggests that winter kill is caused by water which does not drain and freezes "on the surface of greens." Suggests "soakaways", partial removal of turf and topsoil, and four-inch agriculture draining pipes covered with ash as potential drainage methods. Stresses "the necessity of getting rid of water at once and [doing] away with any possible chance of it accumulating on the surface." |
