| Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study "focused on extensive and semi-intensive treatment of communal lawns in relation to different levels of N [nitrogen] + PK [phosphorus potassium] nutrition, N-fertilization form and the management system (cutting, mulching) in three turf species and two lawn mixtures." Details method and materials used in the study, stating that "the experiment was conducted in the form of a small-plot trial (trial plot of 4m2 [square meters]) with three replicate blocks at the Vatín Research Station of Fodder Cropping (MZLU Brno) [Czech Republic] in the potato-growing area with a mean annual temperature of 6.1°C [Celsius] and a total annual precipitation of 737 mm [milimeters]. The objective of this work was to assess differences in the weight of harvested phytomass (g [grams] m-2 [per square meter]) from 1 to 5 cuts per year, and variation in the phytomass weight and distribution of lawn sod." Concludes that "variation in sod weight and phytomass distribution characteristics of Lolium perenne, Festuca rubra and Poa pratensis differ significantly in the first production year. The form of N-fertilization, and the level of NPK nutrition significantly effect phytomass and phytomass distribution of the sward." |
