| Abstract/Contents: | Reports effects of herbicides (Trimec and Ronstar), mulches (straw and polypropylene cover) and irrigation (1 inch/day, 1/2 inch/day, and continuous 5 inches/day) on surface broadcast planting of bermudagrass sprigs. Effects of each treatment variable are evaluated by rating percentage grass coverage after two week and three week periods. The continuous irrigation regime produced the highest percentage of coverage while the Ronstar treatment almost totally eliminated competition from crabgrass. Irrigation regimes included once a day at 1/2 inch, three times a day totaling 1 inch per day, and contiuously providing 5 inches per day. |
