Abstract/Contents: | Describes the factors that led to the construction and sodding of a six-acre site for a new multisport facility at Deddington, UK. Methods of construction include: leveling of the site, preparation of the topsoil, sodding of different types of turf for different sports areas, and irrigation. For the playing field area a general sports turf was used, incorporating 25% 'Elka' dwarf perennial ryegrass, 25% 'Master' dwarf perennial ryegrass, 20% 'Oriflame' creeping red fesuce, 20% 'Baron' smooth stalked meadowgrass, and 10% 'Highland' browntop bent. 80% Chewings fescue and 20% Browntop bent was laid in the cricket square. |
