Abstract/Contents:Profiles Folsom Field in Boulder, Colorado. Discusses the stadium field, stating that "the stadium field was originally native soil with a natural grass surface. It was converted to AstroTurf for the 1971 season. The sand-based field was installed in 1999 during a $1.2 million renovation." Highlights the various sports that make use of Folsom Field, including football, women's soccer, and track. Explains the maintenance program at Folsom Field, stating they employ a "'do-it-yourself' system" which designates each employee "a specific site that they are responsible for." Mentions that the maintenance crew does not "cover the field in the winter because strong winds sweeping down from the Rocky Mountains destroy the blanket. [The crew puts] the cover down in mid-March to bring the grass out of dormancy in preparation for the spring game in April."
