Abstract/Contents:Profiles brown ring patch, a "disease reported from the United States that predominantly occurs on Poa annua. The disease, caused by the pathogen Waitea circinata, has been previously called 'Waitea Patch' but...the accepted name is brown ring patch." Explains that symptoms of brown ring patch "appear as yellow to reddish-brown rings. Frequently, the rings will be irregular and have a scalloped appearance, with diameters from a few centimeters up to 30 centimetres [centimeters]." Suggests that "the symptoms can be confused with yellow patch or fairy ring" and that "the symptoms are most widespread on Poa annua." States that "a fungicide application needs to be applied in an adequate spray volume (greater than 2 gallons/1,000 square feet) since the pathogen is found at the base of the plant."
