| Abstract/Contents: | "DPX-V9360 is a new experimental corn herbicide from Du Pont. Postemergence applications at 16-70 g ai/ha provide control of several annual and perennial grasses, with suppression of certain broadleaf weeds. Field studies conducted in the Northeast region during 1985-1986 showed that excellent control of many troublesome grasses was obtained, including; foxtails (Setaria spp.), fall pancium (Pancium dichotomiflorum), barnyardgrass (Echinochloa crusgalli (L.) Beauv.), shattercane (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench), and both seedling and perennial johnsongrass (Sorghum halepense (L.) Pers.) and quackgrass (Agropyron repens (L.) Beauv.). Tolerance of corn to DPX-V9360 is excellent for a number of varieties. DPX-V9360 is most effective when applied with a non-ionic surfactant to small actively growing weeds. Soybeans are sufficiently tolerant to DPX-V9360 so that no rotational crop restrictions are expected with this crop. However, additional work is needed to establish the rotational crop flexibility with other crops." |
