Abstract/Contents:Discusses the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) and its effect on ash trees. States that "[EAB] has destroyed over 25 million ash trees in MI [Michigan], OH [Ohio], and IN [Indiana]." Recommends the establishment of an EAB Readiness Plan. States that "the major means of prevention of spreading EAB is to control the movement of infested firewood." Also recommends "a systematic inspection of every ash tree, ...once per month, to look for symptoms of EAB infestation." Suggests the use of Imidacloprid on the root system or trunk to potentially prevent infestation.
