| Abstract/Contents: | "Field trials with fenatimol (EL-222) a-(2-chlorophenyl)-a-(4 chlorophenyl)-5-pyrimidinemethanol demonsrated effective control of annual bluegrass, Poa annua in overseeded and covered bermudagrass (Cynodon dactylon) and creeping bentgrass (Argostis palustris) golf course putting greens. Effective rates were 0.75 to 1.5 oz. a.i./1000ft. sq. when applied in the fall prior to annual bluegrass germination. Fenarimol at 0.75 to 1.5 oz/100 sq. ft. also provided effective control of spring deadspot in covered bermudagrass greens. Fenarimol was safe to the commonly used perennial ryegrass blends and to creeping bentgrass used for overseeding. It was also safe to the bermudagrass and bentgrass putting surfaces." |
