Abstract/Contents: | "The session starts with a briefing at Aotea Square where delegates will receive a handout outlining the CBD's key components. We will discuss the proposed design for Aotea Square. A model of the design will be moved into the square (or if wet, inside the Aotea Centre) to assist with the presentation. Walk down Federal Street looking at some of Auckland's key inner city open spaces and connections. The walk will include St Matthews and Sky City. While up the Sky Tower we will discuss the CBD including its fundamental context giving people an appreciation of the CBD at the macro scale. We will then move on to St Patricks Square then Queen Street, Vulcan Lane and Shortland Street. Lunch After lunch we will head to Britomart, the waterfront, via the Ferry Building and on to the Viaduct Harbour where the session will end at the Waitemata Plaza. Afternoon Tea The handout will include a map of the CBD so people are then able to find their way back to their various destinations." |
