Abstract/Contents:"Fungicides were evaluated as curative agents against dollar spot on a non-irrigated bentgrass + annual bluegrass fairway at the Country Club of Ithaca, NY. The soil is "made land": soils were mixed and moved to construct the golf course. Treatments consisted of 4 replications of 3 ft x 10 ft swaths, sprayed within 4 ft x 10 ft plots, and arranged in a randomized complete block design. Fungicides were applied with a self-powered boom sprayer which delivered 4 gal suspension/1000 sq ft at 40 psi. The first application was made on 5 Aug when the diease was uniformly affecting about 40% of the turf area; a second application was made on 26 Aug. Treatment areas were rated several times by visually assessing the percentage of areas affected by the disease. An anaylsis of variance on the data from each rating resulted in a significant (P= 0.05) F-test. The data was further evaluated with Fisher's least significant difference test. All products provided significant control of dollar spot through 19 Sep. After that date, Scott's Fluid Fungicide II, the lower rates of HWG 1608, Vorlan, San 619F and one application of Vorlan and Vorlan + Fungo lost efficacy."
