| Abstract/Contents: | "The trial was conducted on Green No. 11, Country Club of Lincoln. Greens at this country club are fertilized with 3 lb total N in six applications during the Apr-Oct growing season. Turf was maintained at 0.16 in and irrigated daily with 0.10 in of water. Plots were 15 sq ft with three replicated treatments arranged in a randomized complete block design. A Solo 425 Knapsack sprayer equipped with a Tee-Jet 8003 flat fan nozzle was used to apply chemicals at a rate of 4.9 gal solution/1000 sq ft. Application was made 18 Nov 85. On 19 Nov 85 the Lincoln area received approximately 8 in of wet snow, and the plot area remained under snow cover until early Jan. Snow cover was absent much of Jan, Feb and Mar; and temperatures were warmer than normal, with only light, intermittent rain or wet snow. Fusarium patch severity on the plot area was moderate. All treated plots showed less Fusarium patch than the untreated plots. There was a slight increase in disease activity during late Mar. Several treatments held disease severity to less than 20% of the plot area infected. The disease was not uniformly distributed across the plot area. which contributed to variability in snow mold severity ratings." |
