| Abstract/Contents: | "Fungicides were applied curatively to a bentgrass nursery maintained under putting green conditons. Soil was a loamy sand with a pH of 6.0 and O.M. 3.9%. Fungicides were applied on 21 May and re-applied on 28 May due to continued, severe disease activity. Fungicides were applied with a CO2 pressurized sprayer at 38 psi in 2.5 gal/1000 sq ft. Rain fell within 8 hours of the initial application (21 May), but no rain occurred within 72 hours of the 28 May application. Plots were 5 ft x 5 ft and were arranged as a randomized complete block with four replications. Percent plot area diseased was visually estimated on a 0-100% scale. Dollar spot ratings exceeding 0.5% plot area diseased would be considered unacceptable under golf course, putting green conditions. Disease activity was judged to be severe throughout the test period. All fungicides, except Daconil 2787, reduced disease levels on 28 May, but no treatment had reduced disease to the acceptable range. On 5 Jun, only SN 596, SN 596 0.5 oz + Prochloraz 1.5 fl oz, and Lesco RO9524 had reduced dollar spot levels to within the acceptable control range. By 11 Jun and 18 Jun, however, all treatments except Prochloraz were providing excellent disease control. Excellent, residual dollar spot control, assessed 2 Jul, was being provided by all treatments except Prochloraz, Daconil 2787 and Lesco RO9524." |
