| Abstract/Contents: | Discusses potential methods of disease control on bowling greens. Explains that "disease in cotula, as in other plants, develops from an interaction among a susceptible plant, a disease causing organism (fungus) and an environment favourable [favorable] for disease development." Lists "three aspects to disease management": "correct identification of the disease"; "identify the conditions promoting infection and disease spread"; and "identify management strategies that will alter or remove these conducive conditions." Also lists possible considerations to take when developing a disease control strategy, suggesting to "know what environmental and management factors that promote specific fungi...that occur on [the] green"; "develop management strategies...that will reduce the likelihood of severity of future disease invasions"; "record disease outbreaks and chemical control in [a] diary"; "monitor indicators areas on [the] green(s)"; and "control the present outbreak." |
