| Abstract/Contents: | Discusses golf course budgets, stating that "the success or failure of a business ultimately rests with the decision making ability of management." Describes a potential process of economic decision making, stating that "the progression or steps would include 1) observation, 2) analysis, 3) decision making, 4) action taking and 5) accepting consequences." Also discusses short- and long-term budgeting, stating that "closely intertwined with long and short-run budgets is complete and partial budgeting. Complete budgeting refers to making a plan for the entire business or for all decisions of one part of the business. Partial budgeting is used to test the profitability of some practice or operation which might affect various parts of the business but which does not call for a complete business reorganization." Emphasizes the importance of record keeping in golf course and turfgrass facility management. Presents sample budgets. |
