Abstract/Contents:Discusses July turf management practices in England. Suggests that "the height of cut for most of the month is to remain at 5mm [millimeters] with the usual drop to 4mm for major matches or competitions." Recommends to "keep on verti-cutting and if possible light scarification. This is to remove the thatch that starts to build up from the beginning of the season and cut down the laterals that grow." Notes that "it is highly irresponsible for a club to allow one or two bowlers, however venerated, to spoil the green for the rest of the members by their delivery action and action against these members has to be taken."
